A shallow water snapper found from south Florida through the tropical Atlantic and is very common in the Bahamas. It is the smallest of the Snapper family seldom reaching a pound but some fish of five ponds are recorded. With yellow-orange fins on a body of brassy yellow with dark brown vertical bars. Not often found in U.S. markets it is frequently caught by angles and is great pan fried or sautéed.
